Measure the response time of a server or website from our server.
The ping test measures how long a server takes to answer, four times in a row, and shows the minimum, average and maximum time and the loss. It uses TCP connections to the port you choose, which works even where ICMP ping is blocked.
Latency depends on the distance between our server and the target: a server far away answers slower. Use the test to check that a host is up or to compare hosting locations.
Min, average, max and loss.
Works behind firewalls that block ICMP.
Where the server is.
HTTPS, HTTP, SSH, DNS, SMTP or MySQL.
Under 100 ms is good, 100–250 ms is fine for websites, above that pages feel slower.
Many servers and networks block ICMP. A TCP connection measures the same round trip and is rarely blocked.
The share of attempts that got no answer. Any loss points to a network or server problem.
