Score how easy a text is to read with Flesch and other formulas.
The readability checker scores how easy a text is to read with the classic formulas: Flesch reading ease, Flesch-Kincaid grade level, Gunning fog, SMOG, Coleman-Liau and the automated readability index. It also counts words, sentences, syllables, complex words and long sentences.
Readable content keeps visitors on the page and answers their questions faster. For most web pages, aim for a Flesch score of 60 or more: short sentences, common words and one idea per paragraph.

60 to 70 is plain English, easy for most adults. Higher is easier; below 30 is very difficult.
Not as a direct ranking factor, but readable content keeps visitors engaged and answers questions clearly, which search engines reward.
The formulas were designed for English, so scores for other languages are only a rough guide.
Use shorter sentences, common words, active voice, subheadings and lists.
